Happy Musical Monday!
I’m so ready for this week. This week is going to be amazing. Yes, I can already tell! Last week was hard because I had a sinus infection and Daniel has been really sick with the flu. Being sick is no fun but watching someone you love go through sickness is even worse. Over the weekend I was reminded of how important it is to pray for people. There are so many people going through really tough stuff and sometimes, all you can do is pray for them. So, I commit to doing more of that.
I’ve also been thinking about conquering my fear of running a half marathon (it’s coming up in May!!!) and this week begins a focused effort to getting closer to my fitness goal. I’ve set some lofty goals in the past but this one in particular scares me. Somehow, I need to get to 13.1 miles in the next 2 months. Oy vey.
In preparation, I will be working out 6 days a week. I’m running 4 times a week and strength training the other two days. This goal is intimidating to say the least. As I’ve said before, I don’t have a history of running long distances but I do dream of being a gazelle. This is the first step.
I keep thinking of the future and visualizing what I will feel like when I finish the race. I can’t wait to see what my body looks like and what it feels like to have the stamina to finish 13.1. This is one of my 2013 goals that will soon be accomplished. Until then, I’m trying not to be scared and instead focus on making progress every day.
